LUBOVITCH'S WITTY, GRACIOUS AND INSPIRING SPEECH FROM LAST WEEK, ACCEPTING THE SCRIPPS / AMERICAN DANCE FESTIVAL AWARD FOR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT.

On July 11 in Durham (NC), Lar Lubovitch was presented with the Scripps / ADF Award. In his inspiring remarks accepting the award, Lubovitch testified to the power of dance and the key role ADF has played, both in his own life and in the wide world of dance.

After the award presentation, the Lubovitch company presented a rich program featuring 5 of the company's most beloved works. The review in The Herald-Sun concluded "the audience responded with a standing ovation that seemed to go on forever and brought Lubovitch and his dancers back again and again for bows."

SUMMER CELEBRATION IN NEW YORK CITY.
We’ve got a lot to celebrate, and we’d love to have you with us.
We’ll be celebrating:


May 25 -- presented our world premiere in St. Petersburg (Russia),
June 13 -- inducted into the list of America's Irreplaceable Dance Treasures,
July 1 -- named Distinguished Professor by the University of California / Irvine,
July 11 -- presented with the Scripps / American Dance Festival Award.

As part of the acclaimed summer series Victory Dance,
presented by The New Victory Theater the company will perform
Little Rhapsodies,
one of the company's signature works, set to piano etudes by Robert Schumann. Little Rhapsodies, for a trio of men, showcases fierce athleticism and glistening solos, brimming with both competitive spirit and camaraderie.


The Lubovitch company will share the program with:
Limon Dance Company (performing The Winged) and
Jiva Dance (performing Blue Peacock).


On July 21st, the Lubovitch company (now celebrating its 48th anniversary) will host an After-Party with the artists, immediately following the performance.

This evening's unusual presentation -- with spoken introductions and opportunities for questions from the audience -- is part of the company's educational program and tailored to be especially appealing to young people. The proceeds from this event will be used to support the company's on-going educational programs for talented children in the city's public high schools.
